Sliding connector to screw on.
The CHICO is a precision connector made of aluminum die-cast zinc, which can also be used in Corian®, Marlan® and similar materials in addition to wood materials. The halves of the connector are screwed into a groove (50 x 12 x 10) and joined in the longitudinal direction by sliding them together. An integrated stop allows assembly and disconnection in one direction only. The joint is immediately load bearing. Its small dimensions and high stability make it ideal for the applications where high product safety is required, and components (furniture, interior design components, etc.) must be easily assembled and disassembled. (i.e. exhibition construction).
Processing – SCREWING:
Make a 12mm wide, 10mm deep and 50mm long grooves using a top milling machine or a CNC machining center. Screw in the connector halves in the opposite direction with 2 SK-screws each (SK screws Ø 4.5 mm). You can choose the SK-screws according to what’s required. The borehole can be done in a 32mm grid. Note that the connector can only be moved in one direction, thus all connectors must be mounted in one sliding direction. To assemble the parts, first insert and then slide them in longitudinal direction into each other. For final assembly, glue the joint before connecting the components. Depending on the material, pressing pressure is about 80 kg per connector.
